Can I Wear Leather Boots for Snow?
If You plan to spend lengthy periods outside when the temperature is well below zero Centigrades, your feet will feel quite cold unless the boots are large enough to accommodate warm socks. Pure leather boots basically would need to be one size larger than the size providing a proper fit for summer use. Felt innersoles are also used to insulate the feet from the cold ground to reduce heat loss through conduction.
Fake leather probably will be waterproof enough.
Nowadays it is a bit hard to predict what the weather exactly will be like each year. I would just buy any cold weather gear once. It might even turn out not to be really needed.
The selection will be plentiful, although the prices will be relatively high, since the post Christmas sales season will not have started in early December.
Buying winter boots suitable for snow and water is probably impossible in Singapore without spending a lot of money. I cant remember being in Singapore when it snowed but can remember getting awfully wet around 3.00pm in the afternoon each day in the wet season.
I would never wear leather boots in the snow even if they were sprayed with the waterproofing. Leather will get ruined by the snow and if they put down any salt to help melt the snow the boots will definitely be ruined. You would be better off getting a pair of rubber galoshes to wear over your shoes when you will be in snow. They would also be easier to pack.
